Dear 16 year old vicky!
How you doing? Your going to answer fine it’s all you ever answer. I’m writing to you at 33 I have to tell you your life is going to get real crazy and you’ll make decisions that ain’t cool and some that are but listen up, put that book down right now and listen to future vicky!
I know you love studying and having your head in a book, no stop that listen to me! You need to do well in school sure but you have to spend time with your mum to, make some great memories, you’ll thank me in a few years, don’t avoid that family holiday go have fun with your mum and little brother, make those memories promise me you’ll make more memories?
Now pretty soon young vicky your going to meet a guy, yeah I know right? Your saying no way I’m going to study hard, I’m to independent to need a guy in my life. Now I can promise you your going to meet a guy in an unusual way, through a text message, and yup you’ll reply, your too inquisitive some times girl! Now listen hard ok, he’s going to be an important part of your life, treasure those memories young Vicky.
Now we going to move on to another topics, I’m sorry young vicky but I need to tell you stuff so you know, life at 33 isn’t great young vicky and I want you to enjoy life, but trust me your going to have some epic times a head.
Ok so this is a big one. Just you stop that studying right now ok? You need to go back in to school or what ever and make a better effort with people your age, you might be fiercely independent and think you don’t need friends right now, but trust me young vicky you need to hold your friends tight, the coming years will be lonely with no friends, promise me you’ll make more of an effort with friends ok! Keep in touch with people too young vicky, if you listen to anything listen to this!
Now you and older vicky still share one love and that’s travel, girl I’m impressed with your British travel, get a new suitcase though, yours is so boring! But young vicky when the opportunity comes to travel the world grab it grab it tight, and do it, you’ll regret it otherwise. Your education can wait a year go explore, go see the world, that dream of America & Sydney opera house? Go go do it you’ll love it, I just know you will, don’t be scared ok, I know mum will be sad but she wants you to enjoy life, I know you’ll worry about uni, you can return to it, just do it, enjoy it, and vicky take lots of photos.
Now young vicky you listen to me. Your going to have hard times a head and painful stuff is going to happen. Please talk about how you feel don’t bottle it up, it’ll do you know good young vicky. Your going to meet some good people and some bad people in the coming years vicky make sure you hold on to the good ones, no more miss I can do everything alone you need friends young vicky.
Last but not least. Keep enjoying your football young vicky, you’ll have some great memories and a lot of s**t ones but the good ones will out weight it all. Football will take you all over Europe young vicky but never forget your roots don’t become one of those fans, your a proper fan a proper lover of the game and never forget that!
