Match day blog – united v Watford
Morning all,
Yesterday was quite the day and not a normal match day by any means, so sit tight and hear about it and at the end I have an announcement for April on my blog!
I got up as normal with my pre match routine in full swing including meds, fuel and getting ready to meet up with Jamie at my dads!
Now I have a WAV (wheelchair adapted vehicle) which makes my life much easier than the standard car!
When I got to dads I was early, just for once! So my brother brought out Mel dads Labrador and the most docile of dog, she’s 12 years old and feeling her age, she couldn’t jump in the car but she got in slowly, the little old lady that she is! Mel sat on the seat next to me getting love as my dad & brother we’re putting stuff in my brothers car … my brother had my car keys.
When Jamie arrived with his dad & shay my brother drove off with my car keys, yeah my car keys! So while Jamie decided to chase after my brother lol his dad was trying to calm me down, because I was a bit upset & angry.
Jamie had the sudden realisation that he couldn’t chase as he wouldn’t catch him, I mean it’s funny looking back! Jamie came back and put me in his car and it’s a polo so you can imagine with 2 wheelchairs and 4 people it was going to be quite the journey!
We got chucked off the motorway and ended up going all through countryside of Staffordshire! We met some very strange bridges and tight corners, I tried to phone my dad to find out about the car and if my brother had been back with them. Let’s just said it wasn’t a good chat as dads basically deaf and couldn’t hear so that was funny and had Jamie in hysterics!
We eventually made it back to the m6 and off again and heading for Manchester! Then Jamie reversed into a brand new Audi, don’t worry no one was injured and the cars were both fine!
We amazingly made it to old Trafford having relayed the story to Ben & Neil who I am sure had a good giggle!
It was Ole’s first match as permanent manager! Thankfully we got in to see the Stretford End reveal the Ole flag! I didn’t think I was making that match!
The match it’s self was awful! However Marcus Rashford celebrating right in front of me was top! We won 2-1 so at least we got 3 points!
At halftime I didn’t see the girls as one of the lads Ben came down to see me, which was awesome, we chatted for the whole 15 mins and then he got off to the pub! Although he nearly had the blanket from the women next to me, in bens own words that’s the Salford in me that! Thanks for coming down to see me was ace to chat and nice to see one of the lads! See you soon!
After the match it took us a while to get out with Jamie’s dad dancing up the platform and then we took a different route back to the car, meeting up with Andy & Peter who had my suitcase from Paris and now I can repack it for Barcelona!
Me and Jamie decided on how to phrase to my dad what I wanted him todo, meet me at my house! So I rang dad who then agreed to meet us at mine! We then turned the tuned up and sang all the way home, with a stop to get petrol as Jamie only mad 50 mins left and we wasn’t even half way home!
After getting home I had a chat with Adam Ann Marie and Ben and Neil and then it was time to go to bed as we lost an hours sleep but my cat doesn’t think like that!
Thanks to Jamie for today and also my wonderful friends, I’m gonna miss you lot in the summer!
*APRIL announcement* I’m going to be blogging every single day with some special blogs with Joe who’s a Burnley fan & wheelchair user talking football, disability, mental health and all that life is about*
Lastly .. today is Mother’s Day in the UK and I’d like to wish my mum a happy heavenly Mother’s Day, I miss you more then words can describe and I’ll forever love you
