This time last year I was sat in my bungalow with my brother & Adam running around me packing the final bits up and taking things outside so that the removers could pack in the van, I’m telling you there wasn’t that much when I moved in!
All week id had this feeling in the pit of my stomach of nervous and uncertainty but it was too late to look back. I was going togo to my mum & gran parents graves that morning but it was so busy by the time we was ready to leave it was raining and so it wasn’t right.
My home was packed up on Luton van just about and between Peter & Adam they caught troopy and popped her in the carry case and strapped that into the back seat of the car. Ben and I had a final hug as adam was allergic to him and so he was staying with my dad & brother until we figured what to do next. I was going to miss that little guy.
The time came to get in Adams focus! Peter said see you I was close to tears. I never saw any other of my family that day probably for the best im not good at goodbye.
We drove up to Manchester and everything piled in wed get it sorted i knew we would. Adams dad & brother came round & the landlord to welcome us and show us the heating!
That first night troopy was really wary and we slept on a single mattress on the floor waiting for our bed to come a week later!
A year on …
I’m sat in the living with adam. Troopy is getting old and doesn’t like to sit with us now! We have 2 beautiful cats Scholesy & Beckham! Oh and a great big 12kg 18 week old golden labrador! We had a night out with friends and we got engaged! We have driven to and from Cannes explored other European cities! Then Covid hit and I was placed in CEV clinically extremely vulnerable and that met 6 months shielding! I’ve not been in a shop since march its now October!
We will likely go into local lockdown again this week. I just hope I get to see my family at Christmas & collect my turkey from my fav butcher back home!
Its not been the year I expected with a world wide pandemic hitting but I certainly won’t forget this first year in Manchester with Adam!
