Hi guys,

Today we are going to speak to joe about how a meeting with Danny ings lead to him going to Buckingham palace.

I met Danny ings when I was 13 during the 12/13 season. We first came into contact when he offered me his boots during a break in play. I never thought he’d come over but he did! The picture then went viral on social media & in the media it got millions of hits? From there we gained a friendship and ultimately lead to the Danny _ disability support project being set up, which I’m a member of still to this day. I still speak to Danny ings to this day, he’s a down to earth lad.

From the meeting with Danny I’ve been able to volunteer at the project which involved a feature with BT sport on disability inclusion in sport. This lead me to doing a speech at the Houses of Parliament on this topic. This then lead me on to going to Buckingham palace! I’m currently volunteering at the Burnley foundation and hope to become a permanent member of staff in the future.

The reason I brought this story to you guys is it just shows a one of meeting with a football has allowed joe to have some great experiences but also allowed him be involved with football which isn’t always open to other disabled fans. Good on Danny and his project, I’d love to see more of these from other footballers.
