I’ve not been to an away game since 2019, but when our DLO rang and said there was a ticket for Southampton something inside of me thought it was time to go back!

We decided to travel over night as it would be cooler for Ole! We did stop on the way down so she could have a pee and stretch her legs! She travelled so well.

We checked in at the mecure a dog family and we had a quick nap & freshen up. Ole was going to stay with a friend as she hasn’t done her football training yet, sadly that fell through but she has her assistance dog vest as we take her around people when we can.

We popped her in the car and drove to ST Marys nightmare trying to get on the car park, it was very frustrating!

Adam ran to get our tickets from the ticket office and then came back and got ole out and told her to be the best girl!

She calmly walked by my chair and kept checking I was ok. We got to the access entry point and were all allowed in, we wasn’t sure if they’d let her in, as they’d not had notice due to last minute change!

She froze at first I think it was overwhelming for her as she’s never been to a stadium before! We were taken to our seat & she could sense I was a bit anxious so kept putting her head up so I could pet her to calm down & then she lay down!

Bruno scored and united fans celebrated & so did Ole she gave out a bark! She then settled down again.

At HT she went on the concourse to get some water as it was so hot! The united fans were excellent asking before petting her (thanks if that was you) she loved the attention and gave lots of kisses!

She drank her water and squashed the plastic cup! She did knock it over and a little bit of water went on the ground I think the steward thought she’d peed but she hadn’t!

I was so proud of Olive for how she behaved on her first away trip, she loved being around so many people and wasn’t phased by the loud singing of united fans or the smoke bombs.

I managed to stay awake for the whole match & felt so much safer and less anxious and I think that’s because of having my ole with me.

We stayed at our hotel but I wasn’t feeling well as it was so hot so we travelled back later that night and sang all the way back, poor ole!

I’d like to thank, Lenny for offering us the ticket. The stewards at Southampton, The United Fans but mostly Ole for being such a good! Thanks to Adam for holding ole during the match so he didn’t see it all!

Olive can’t wait to visit Old Trafford soon!
