Hi guys,
We come to Tuesday and day 2!
The day started at 3am when I woke up, I spent 30 mins getting my joints working ready for the big adventure that lay ahead!
At 4am it was time to wheel over to Eurostar! I got there about 10 minutes earlier, all I could think was I could have had an extra 15 in bed!
Once i was checked in and through passport control & such it was time to hit the lounge! I couldn’t personally touch anything that early but pastries were had along with orange juice and coffee! Before I knew it I was heading to the train! I was traveling business class to Paris, it was great! Although the food was a bit odd! Pineapple for breakfast!
Everyone else seemed to be starting there day! I had a chat to Ben and Neil on twitter as I wizzed passed Lille, I was giggling to myself knowing about his trip tomorrow, i am a terrible person!
Once I arrived in Paris we jumped in a taxi and off I went to my hotel, meeting the absolute star Christelle who went all out to help us out. The room was ground floor huge bathroom but they had put a child’s single bed for my mate let’s say his feet were hanging off the edge, but I enjoyed a big double bed!
After dropping my bag as the room wasn’t fully ready. We were given a map of the local area and Paris and off we went! We went up to the Parc des Prince to check it out and headed for a look in the shop, sadly no pin badges! While in the area I visited Roland Garros home of the French open, its having so much work done at the moment but it looks an impressive place and 1 dat I’d like to visit for the tournament.
It was only around midday by this point I was shattered so went back to the hotel for a short time and regroup then we headed to Paris!
The first place I headed to was Notre Dame! The outside was amazing and I so enjoyed it, saying that I love a cathedral me! The inside was special too, I just took it all in!
I had been chatting to Ben too who was now In Paris too and we made plans to catch up!
We then picked up my postcards & magnets before heading off. We just took a slow walk along the Seine river taking pictures along the way, it was so much hard work with the wheelchair and cobbles it wasn’t ideal and pain was high!
Sadly when I got to the Eiffel Tower I’d just missed Ben so made plans to meet on match day, i was hoping to see his pics from his new camera!
The tower its self was not what I’d dreamt of ha! We carried on walking after taking obligatory pictures! We went into many districts of Paris and eventually after a good 7 hours stumbled on a hotel and got a taxi back to upper Paris!
Once back at the Hotel I had some meds and chatted watched some football on the TV caught up with friends on phone or online.
It was around midnight French time when my head hit that pillow and I was gone .. dreaming of tomorrow’s plans and the big match.
Could we win? Could ole pull it off with the lads ….
