Match day blog – Tottenham away
Good evening!
How good was yesterday then reds?!
Today I start with a question but it’s a match day blog of some sorts, as we actually start the day before!
It’s been a long few years of personal pain and anxiety from a situation at football, but on Saturday a few more pieces of the jigsaw got released to friends (some social media bits) and that lead to a good chat well more of a vicky listen to us, and ended in we’re all here for you. I went to bed and I know others have said it in different ways but it all dawned on me it was like a light bulb moment, I was laughing so much the cat thought I’d lost it! Will it always be ok, who knows but I’ll try and have a different perspective now many eyes makes little vicky feel safer!
Fast forward to Sunday morning, I was up had my normal routine then it was time for my medication and my brother arriving! Petrol to be had and I was chatting to Mef about the game & journey, which isn’t too bad down the m40!
Before I knew it I was off and having met with Jamie we were chatting about united and trying to plan all things away matches! Which is our favourite type of match, how on earth are we getting to Fulham!
During the day I spoke to Neil and we shared our good luck text and I’m telling you I always feel confident after that and I have a feeling Neil did to as he even predicted a win!
I spoke to Ben too about the game and wished him a safe journey oh and tried to see if we was sitting near by!
Of course Andy was also in touch an easier game for him to get to from Kent!
Once we arrived we parked on yellow car park it was all spurs, but I don’t go in multi story car parks as sometimes it’s a bit iffy with my car and the last thing I need is a scratched roof!
We made our way up to our entrance and found Andy & Pete on the concourse! Pete was giggling as Andy had had his flag confiscated for the first time ever, it was funny to be fair, Andy however was fuming! I had a brief chat to Helen on messenger and then John O’Shea appeared and everyone was getting pictures, it turned out he was sitting right by me!
After getting to my seat, I was relaxing prepping my new zen! One of the lads I follow on twitter posted a picture with John and I realised he had walked passed! Anyway I msg him and he came back to say hello, lovely to meet you Liam after following each other for a few years!
I also saw Sam briefly for a chat and next thing I knew Jamie was off for a drink & Andy was up getting johns autograph on his ticket!
Now Jamie was particularly a ball of nervous energy once we kicked off! When rashford scored Jamie was off celebrating lol! You could feel the joy from all reds .. but there was still 45 mins Togo!
The second half Jamie had to ask if people could swap seats so the less taller person was stood in front of me and I could see, cheers lads!
Talking of the second half, what a performance by DDG I don’t think anything was getting passed him! Of course it’s not just David but some great performances across the field.
When the final whistle went, was any one else clock watching?! You could feel the relief from the fans it was such a natural buzz it’s been a long time since I felt that from the fans, but not just united fans but the players too, all of them came over and celebrated with the fans even the gaffer who I’m sure enjoyed that as much as us, the club as a whole have a good feeling back and that I believe is thanks to ole, mike & back room staff, again united, playing the united way!
Funny enough as we went back to the lift, we was surrounded by Tottenham fans and one guy in the lift kept telling us that he wanted to play us every week, I think he was a bit annoyed they hadn’t won! We got off as quick as the lift would allow! Mind he did try and take us out coming out the lift!
By the time we was back at the car I’d had a text from Neil saying “lucky text worked” it made me smile, as it’s exactly what I was going to text to!
The journey home was relatively quite both taking in what had happened I think, we stopped and Jamie got his favourite snack from his favourite service station ha, he said going that If we win I’m getting a large and he did too, haha!
The rest of the journey home & once home I spent chatting to various friends many I’ve already talked about but I also chatted to Ann Marie about none football things & my friend Claire briefly before I decided it was time to catch some sleep, see what Monday would bring.
