Hey guys,
Yesterday I went back to football!
I visited a club that is very close to my heart it holds precious memories of my grandad and childhood! So here’s goes ..
Around midday my brother arrived and I had gel put on my arm & shoulder to get me through the day! I actually wanted to get to St. Andrews for around 1-1.30 however never left home til 1pm! It was a really warm & humid day in the midlands so I decided to wear a skirt!
The journey wasn’t too bad the SAT NAV took us through inner city Birmingham it didn’t need to, we could have gone up the a38! Anyway it only took us about 50 mins including traffic! We parked up on St Andrews street really easily I was surprised if I’m honest lol.
We ended up sitting in the car for a few more mins having a drink before heading to St. Andrews. It was only about a 3 minute push up a bit of a hill! We were situated in the Gil Merik stand although it’ll always be the railway end to me and were the away fans are housed too!
When I went into the stadium and found my seat I sat there for a few minutes just looking around and my heart swelled with happy memories. It felt so good to be back. I had a rush of warmth like I was at a place I belonged, I was so happy to have my little brother with me eve though I don’t think he gets blues!
My space was pitch side and it was a great view! The game ended 2-2 it was both excitement and annoyance! I said to peter .. typical blues!

When I first heard KRO bellowing out I felt a little emotional it had been too long! Before long I was belting out the song with everyone around me, I couldn’t believe I still knew the words after 15 years! I came home with a lost voice but a happy heart.
One thing I liked at blues is there home disabled fans are integrated in with all the home fans you are part of the Birmingham family, no away fans behind you lobbing stuff at you!
Yesterday I saw many old friends which was a pleasure. I meet new people and was made so welcome by Accessi-blues & the staff and Stewart’s. It was a pleasure to meet you all and spend 90 mins or so in your company.
A day I won’t forget .. until next time blues .. I promise I won’t leave it so long next time
KRO
