Let’s get back to basics my story ..
I was born in 1985 and I was a poorly baby! I was diagnosed with Tetralogy of fallots which is a congenital heart disease. In my early years I had a BT shunt and went into heart failure at three years old, but I kicked back! In November 89 I had my open heart surgery that would allow me to live a normal life. It was tough going for my family but they discovered I was a fighter and I’d be OK! With special thanks to Birmingham children’s hospital and my surgeon Dr W Braun.
Shortly after starting school and a few funny incidents like telling my mum I’d made a friend called Nora who my mum then spoke to her mum turned out she was actually called Laura! I was referred to the children’s hospital to meet an audiologist and we then found I had a bad hearing loss, I’m basically deaf in one ear! Then I went through about 6 different hearing aids finding a good fit!
We then reach middle school and I was diagnosed with asthma! The world of inhalers became my world but I settled quite well, I was use to doctors and I was only 10!
I then had a pretty good run of feeling well and nothing new occurring!
When I reached the grade age of 23 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis which isn’t just typical Arthritis it Attacks your joints and organs so it’s pretty tough.
I then at 24 had my first lapse of an eating disorder but I managed to pull myself out of it.
I was then told I probably had fibromyalgia.. well that was a new one on me but it was never confirmed a locum rheumatologist told me about this!
In 2011 I became reliant on a wheelchair due to my rheumatoid
Then I started becoming increasingly depressed and suffering with anxiety
Eventually diagnosed with adjustment disorder and MADD mixed anxiety and depression disorder
I’m also currently in recovery from a relapse in my eating disorder
Keep smiling and surround yourself with a good team and positive people and I’ll be OK
