Hey guys!
After an hours rest and chill out at the hotel I had to get ready to head to the stadium.
The club had sent a map to the away end which they recommended you follow due to the home fans. It was a different route to that of the first day in Paris I’d taken so searched it out on apple maps from my hotel and off we went.
The route wasn’t to bad quite quiet and calm in truth! I’d heard from Ben who was on his way to! Now we got to the away end and the Parisian steward told us no your not in here, in which point I was really annoyed. We walked back and asked a united steward for advice and he said “good luck” thanks for that!
So off we went in amongst the home fans, it’s not ideal, I only spoke to PSG officials most couldn’t speak English so pointed! We made it to the new entrance and were searched accordingly and then Andy was given a tag on his arm, like one you get on your bag at old Trafford! We then had to walk amongst PSG fans! To a lift it only took 1 wheelchair at a time so once we got up the top we meet up with our friends Andy & Nigel and the lad we met in Valencia (who’s name had escaped me!) the platform soon filled up, it seemed it was over subscribed we’d only been given 10 wheelchairs there was at least 14!
I’d noticed one of my followers on twitter had put a pic up and he was close by, so I tweeted him hello Dan!
As the game started I was nervous really nervous, I really wanted us to win but I wasn’t confident enough, now you may notice here me, Ben or Neil made no predictions! However the two Andy’s both said 3-1 lol those confident boys!
Lukaku scores 1-0 … lukaku 2-0 … PSG scores 2-1 the nervous were rattled .. we was there for a good time! I looked at my phone and noticed Neil had took a picture and knew he was very close! I looked for his mate who had a distinctive coat on. Low and behold he was right there In front of me, I shouted at first but he didn’t hear me, so I text him are you by this flag? He turned round and text yeah … so I shouted again Neil! He looked around and we was chatting away all HT a failed hug due to the glass haha!
Now I had the “bully” near me to the right, he was sat next to Scott who was next to me! I had the Andys by me but knowing Neil was there to I actually started relaxing!
We kept having quick words during the second half a smile and a nod here and there! He gave me his mobile and it stayed charging on my lap. It gave it a boast at least! I’m the 73rd minute he turned around and shouted 3-1 with a smile and a nod, I was thinking he’s as confident as these two now!
Then everything went a bit mad 89th minute we was awarded a penalty curtesy of VAR! Although we didn’t know what was going on until we looked over and saw on the big screen, I was so nervous! It was awarded much to our happiness.
Marcus rashford stepped up to take the pen it took a while with players trying to distracted him. I said to Andy I can’t watch, I did!
The ball went in the net, I was shacking so much my chair was going my heart rate was sky high I was almost in tears! As Ben later said “Brillmazing”
The fans were going mad, we was all hugging each other and screaming and singing for just that split second I had forgotten about bully and was enjoying that high moment with my mates!
The final whistle seemed to take ages to go and when it eventually went we all lost it, I’d love to tell you the bit between the pen being scored & the final whistle in truth I don’t know how to express it I was on a natural high, words can’t explain that level of joy!
The players ran over singing with us and we was singing “oles at the wheel” what a glorious moment it was.
It was slightly ruined when “bully” came so close but Andy was ready to wack him with his stick! Plus I knew other Andy and and Neil would step in if need be.
We were let out the stadium before our fans so I said bye to Neil and see you soon and off we went into the Parisian rain and home fans we kept our heads down and walked well skipped back to the hotel, we was soaked but we didn’t care we was absolutely chuffed to bits.
I couldn’t sleep so had a chat to a Mef, Shaun, Annmarie & Helen and watched the whole game again on Parisian TV! I think I fell asleep about 2/3am!
Thank you to my friends better known as “the lads” you allow me to have these moments with you wether it be helping me there or be it just being my mate when I felt I had no one and I nearly gave it up because of a bully and his friends, from me to you thank you if it wasn’t for you I’d not have seen that match and had that amazing high with my mates.
