Match day blog – Brighton at home!
Good morning!
Happy Sunday reds!
Saturday morning seemed to go really quick! Once I’d woken up, put my mobile on charge had my fortisip it was time to have my meds, get petrol & get ready! Before I knew it I was in the car heading to dads to meet up with Jamie!
Rewind a bit, I had a chat to Ben about the match and we both predicted the score, Ben said 4-0 and I said 2-1 as I was abit worried about Brighton, it sure why call it intuition!
Anyway I meet up with Jamie, his dad & shay and we was off! On the journey up I spoke to Mef & of course Neil & I shared our lucky text and he predicted a 3-0 win, what I like is everyone being positive about the result!
Anyway back to the car, the journey up wasn’t too bad and I never fell asleep, result! We were all chatting and I heard some very funny stories! I talked a bit about my social anxiety too and about the time, I went on holiday with my grandparents and mum had said to me if you could back and the curtains are down we’ve moved. A week later I returned from the south west to find the curtains had actually been taken down and we’d moved to a small village!
Once we arrived we parked up and then showed Jamie’s dad & shay there exit and then made a quick move to AE2 as it was bitter cold, the lady on the door was telling us about the hand warmers they may be some thing I need to invest in!
It was quiet on the platform saying that I did see Dax and said hello to him, always good to see you mate! Then off into the ability suit, it was bitter cold, a team sheet was given to us. I sat with Helen & Sophie and some other ladies too and generally chatted. I never use to go In the ability suit but recently I’ve been catching up with friends and I feel like it’s a bit step for me. I also saw Dan and said hello, but he was a bit grumpy!
The good thing Is people seem to be accepting me a bit more & talking to me so that’s really nice for me. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt welcome at old Trafford.
Before I knew it, it was time for the match and we made our way out and spoke briefly to people either side of me. I say we, it was mainly Jamie!
We had a minutes applause to remember the passing of Sir Matt Busby and you could feel that united hug from everyone the love for Sir Matt will never leave united supporters.
The first half was the better half with goals from Paul pogba & Marcus rashford! I will never understand Paul’s run up but he scores & that’s all that matters and Marcus what a goal that was!
The Brighton fans were loud as per, they sang the classics, is this a library and your city is blue just like Brighton! More importantly though they didn’t chuck anything so big up to you guys!
The second half was a bit flat and Brighton did score, the final score you ask? It was 2-1 to Man Utd that’s right I guessed correctly!
We headed back to the car and it was so very cold! I saw andy briefly at the car for a chat and then he was off to meet up with Steve and get home!
The journey home wasn’t too bad, I learnt my hearing is terrible haha! We ended up playing a game guessing the nickname of clubs & stadium names! I thought I was alright! I had a brief chat to Neil & Helen on the way home.
Once home it was hot water bottle, heating, liquid food & painkillers! I also had a chat with Dan, Helen, Mef and most excitingly of all Lee finally received his birthday present that’s been stuck at Atlanta for a number of days!
Before long the lights were dimmed and I was cuddling up to Troopy! It was time to catch some sleep!
Next up is arsenal away In the FA cup & I’m staying in London Friday night! So next match day report will be next Saturday!
Until then
Vicky xx
