It’s Saturday which means football for me! I thought I’d do a day in the life for a home match to Manchester!
I woke up early this morning after an unsettled evening. My left knee has flared badly I crnt lift my leg due to pain going through my knee, this isn’t cool. Feeling quite tearful and it’s only 7am!
I’ve put my phone on charge and my green battery pack is charging, I keep trying to move my knee slowly at times tears In my eyes but I’m determined not to miss today we don’t have many games left. I pop a hot tea towel on my knee to try and help get it moving.
Just before 10am my brother arrives and I have my anti inflammatory gel on my knees, hips and shoulders! Then peter goes and gets my fuel for the trip up to Manchester while the gel starts to work.
When he gets back we pack my bag, gel and gloves in case it’s needed. Season ticket, mobile, inhaler, painkillers (after I’d had one), my battery back up, purse and my trusty water bottle!
Then it’s time to get ready togo not forgetting my blankets as it’s raining! We need to leave at 10.50am to meet Jamie at 11.10am then off to Manchester.
We meet at my dads! So I got to see my dads labradors Mel & Lenny then saw Martin & Helen! Before I knew it Jamie had arrived and we was off to Manchester.
The journey up wasn’t too bad we had to come off twice to miss bad congestion but we arrived at 2.10pm so 2 hours 15 mins after setting off from my dads! Which isn’t a bad run really. We parked up and made a slow walk down to old Trafford seeing a few familiar faces!
Once we got in old Trafford it was early for us so we took our seats. I saw a few pals on the concourse then on the platform saw a few friends, dax, morag and her bf and Ann Marie which was great, I got a rolling reds magazine and my poncho that I’d put my name down for.
The game was good in the first half with two goals .. Sanchez scored and ran right at me but my phone was in my bag, gutted! But it was a decent half, my knee was starting to hurt at this point so at half time we disappeared to toilet, Jamie applied some gel on my right knee that saw me until getting home!
The second half was a bit flat! But amazing saves by de yea! I swear he’s like a spider!
Then it was the walk back to the car avoiding any pot holes! Jamie strapped my chair in the car and then andy popped his head in the car and said hello! Then we was off back home! We had a really good run home and even managed to stop for a coffee for Jamie! We got back to my dads at 7.20pm it took just under 2 hours.
I said goodbye to Jamie and see you in a few weeks! Then dad drove me home where I had my liquid food, painkillers, orange juice & more gel on my knees, it can be applied three times a day!
I’m sat here at 8.20pm finishing this blog watching gavin & Stacey and I’m looking forward to the Joshua / Parker fight later on.
I’m shattered so I’ll sign off now.
