Fulham away – match day blog!
Morning all,
I’m sat at my desk looking at my screen and thinking about what order to post in, but I thought this one should come first, as the next is a bit of a brain dump about football & people you meet a long the way! But let’s get into it!
Unusually we start the day before and I’ve got to best I was feeling really unwell with going dizzy to the point I was holding on to my desk and feeling honestly so sick it was not good, then the pain had been so bad I had spent a lot of the week medicated & laying down!
But after a check up and told I was ok and should probably just push past it!
The day started with Jamie running a bit late, then someone reversing into the back of the car! We ended up at the train station and a coffee being dropped all over the floor, but I’d had a chat to Ben so I was relatively calm, bens a great advocate of positivity!
The journey was long with a lot of people using the toilet next to me, although some absolutely hilarious moments! The train was coming to a stop (I am laughing stirring this) and suddenly we hear a bang .. Jamie had fallen off the toilet LOL then his dad forgot to put the pull down seat and he styled his fall out! This was before of course we had other laughs!
The nice thing was getting to chat to some delightful Birmingham city fans, on there way to QPR! We all wished each other good luck and it got me thinking of tines gone passed with my grandad as it was 20 years yesterday since he passed away, I’d like to think he was cheering on the blues in what can only be described as a very blues performance .. but I get off topic!
Upon arrival we ended up grabbing a taxi to Hammersmith, then the long walk we went passed all the united coaches! Then the lucky text came through, which brings me to the predictions!
I said 2-2 with Fulham fighting for survival you can never underestimate a team in trouble, well that was my thinking! Then you have Ben with 3-1 and my mate Shaun going 4-1 and then Neil came in with a 3-0!
Now let me tell you I’ve been many grounds but it was a first for me fulham! It was get in through gates fine but then you had a hill to get up! Then oh the grounds to get through, it was a bit strange people where smiling and waving at me, did they know me? Did they read my blog? Who knows but hey reds lol!
The stewards said food could be ordered and brought to us, now it was for the upper tiers but not us, Jamie was hangry! Although shay did get food & a blanket so that’s good!
It was cold & wet and very windy thankfully I had my new coat so felt ok! I was a bit unsettled as I wasn’t feeling great if I’m honest! The away end was superb as per in loud voice!
Now we have to firstly congratulate Neil and I know he’s reading this smiling because he got his prediction correct 3-0 and he knows I’m writing this blog haha well done loving your optimism on the prediction!
Now back to me after the match we left everyone was smiling & singing u saw a few faces I recognised which I’m seemingly recognising more people lately! We walked back to the shell garage and I hailed a taxi on my app!
Before I knew it we was going toward Euston via Hyde park! For those wondering blues won 4-3 a very blues performance and grandad would have loved every minute, while muttering about doing it the hard way!
The train home felt a long mind Jamie was reading and I was uncomfortable although I turned and said oh you’ve read loads? Nope it’s a book you can read parts and it still makes sense! Didn’t I feel a prat!
I had been talking to Ben basically all the way home about pretty much everything, it was proper nice to talk to you and if I’m honest helped keep my mind of the pain levels.
Before I knew it I was home and had a catch up with my half sister and then I was away to bed after a chat to Gary it’s always good to catch up!
This coming week we play PSG in the home leg so I’m looking forward to that! And will of course blog it. Then we had two games, Chelsea away in the FA cup & Liverpool at home so that’ll be an interesting 12 days plus of course it’s my birthday, let’s hope united can make it a good one!
Until later
Vicky xx
