Good morning guys,
I woke up in pain but my brain had so much energy I thought I’d get a few blogs out!
Recently I visited Specsavers in my local town. Now considering I’m a wheelchair user I was a little nervous about going as I wasn’t sure how we’d get on with my chair as I preferably didn’t want to transfer as it hurts.
So off I went to my appointment, firstly the shop had a ramp entrance which is great, however the door needs to be opened, my brother got skills! I signed in and went through the questions and then had to wait a few mins. When called in my anxiety went high and wasn’t sure if I could do the eye tests. First off we had to take my foot plates off so we could get close enough! Then as the machines were on wheels it was really easy and before I knew it we was done, this part I believe is to check the health of your eyes.
I then went back to the waiting room and a few mins later I was called in. We had to back into the space in the room so I could do the reading letters test. Thankfully the equipment could again be moved and before I knew it the tests were done and questions asked!
Unfortunately I was told I needed glasses, in particular for when things are far away! I was given my prescription and told to look at frames. A young man told us which ones were which and then I got trying them on. I liked a couple of the women’s adult glasses but it was suggested I looked at the teen section too. I choose one in the end from each section. The guy came back and tried them both on and said the teen ones fitted me better so that was that!
A week later I went back to Specsavers and was greeted by a different staff member who came and talked to me. He got my glasses and fitted them a few adjustments were needed and that was me off on my way with my glasses!
I’m  bit sad I need glasses but I’ll embrace them and hopefully I’ll be able to see who’s actually kicking the ball now!

Below you can see a pic of me in my new glasses!
