Hello Everyone,
isolation
Monday has come around again! I was sat yesterday thinking of blogs for this coming week and it suddenly dawned on me the most obvious to start the week off with, isolation.
I mean during football season I’m glad to have a day to myself at the weekend after a week of appointments with varying team members todo with my health, but then the weekend comes in off season and I’m all alone.
During off season, i am busy most week days with appointments or i have my brother or cousin around helping me out with various tasks but then when they are not around, I’m alone well i have ben of course but he’s not great at conversation!
Isolation is possibly the hardest thing for me to cope with as pre rheumatoid id just go out or find some thing todo even if i traveled around the country, i was known to turn up on a friday with my suitcase!
These days the nights seem long and the weekend longer, i look forward to a monday and seeing my cousin first thing and my brother later on!
However for every negative there is a positive, that positive is Social media!
Social media literally saves me, wether its the early hours and my friends on the west coast of the US are up or its late at night and my friends on the east coast are awake (big up to Lee and Mary love you both!)
Then we have my british and irish friends always on hand, a chat or a Skype call or just me scrolling seeing what everyones up to some times i get up set but others i smile and say good for them.
Of course you also have groups for rheumatoid, tetraology, hearing, anxiety, depression and wheelchair folk .. all of which help because if things are getting tough and you just need a chat to someone who gets your situation they are there day and night its a supportive community.
